“I am a civil engineer by education and training, so I see in things a certain order, a process and rhythm. But on the other side, I believe in a natural order of chaos. It’s in the conflict and contrast that there is beauty and wonder. The shadows are my favorite. I always wonder what is in the shadows. It’s the mystery that is fascinating. It makes you ask questions. I also think that we tend to take the landscape and people for granted. We think things are beautiful, but it is the pictures that make you slow down and really look. Maybe it’s because the moments are so fleeting and the pictures afford you the time to study and say, “I didn’t see that before”.
